Setting up Quicken categories for use with Koinonia or AutoRep

Setting up Quicken's WIX account

AutoRep is a program I developed to ease the pain of creating the mandatory BBFI financial report. I decided to make it available to all BBFI missionaries as a gift from the Fultons (Ireland).

If you (or are commited to) faithfully use Quicken or MS Money to enter all of your work-related financial transactions (checks, cash, credit card, etc.), then AutoRep will automatically create your BBFI financial report for you in less than 3 minutes per month.

AutoRep is a new cut-down version of Koinonia. It will run on both Windows and Mac. It is currently in testing mode, but it's running fine on my old iMac using OS X Jaguar.

AutoRep for Mac produces two flavors of the BBFI monthly report. One is a text only version, and the other is using the MS Excel BBFI template version (if you have MS Excel on your system).

Due to political wrangling between RealBasic and Microsoft, in order for AutoRep to produce the Excel version, AutoRep and its associated files must be contained within the Microsoft Office:Office folder. I know it's an inconvenience, but I can do nothing about it. The way to do it, is to download the program, and unstuff it to a folder. Then move all files (six in all) within it to the Microsoft Office:Office folder. This is where AutoRep must run from thereafter.

AutoRep will save you hours of manual work once you set it up on your system.

Simply download it to your OS X desktop, and unstuff it. No install is necessary. It comes with a sample input file so you can try it immediately.

1. Double click on the AutoRepOsX icon

2. Click on Continue, fill in your personal details, click Next. You will see the sample info from Quicken

3. Click Next. You will see AutoRep's rendering of the Quicken data.

4. Click Next. You will see the BBFI report created from the Quicken data.

5. Click update, then click Exit.

The BBFI report will be in the AutoRep folder (where you launched the application from) under the name "BBFI Monthly Report.txt". If an Excel BBFI spreadsheet is created, it will be named yyyy mmmmmmm Report to M.O.xls, where yyyy and mmmmmmm are the year and month provided during the AutoRep run.

I believe you'll find AutoRep to be a very useful piece of software!
